ABSTRACT:
A microminiature neutron radiation detector includes an ionization well fed in an electrically conductive substrate for coupling to a bias voltage to establish an electric field, a pressurized atmosphere substantially filling the ionization well for generating ions inside the ionization well from neutron collisions, and a collection electrode coupled to the ionization well for collecting the ions driven to the collection electrode by the electric field.
