ABSTRACT:
Novel hair cosmetic compositions comprising from 0.01 to 10% by weight of a particulate polymer having a weight average diameter of from 0.005 to 0.2 .mu.m, said particulate polymer has a particle size distribution of such that the particles ranging from 0.005 to 0.2 .mu.m in diameter are contained over 95% by weight and has a glass transition temperature, Tg, of over 300.degree. K. As the particulate polymer, polymer latex such as polystyrene latex, vinyl homopolymer latex, polyurethane latex, epoxy resin latex and the like are preferably used.
The hair cosmetic compositions provide excellent hair style-forming/retaining property, good combing performance and good feeling of the treated hair. Further, they are free from easy separation which is inevitable for conventional compositions containing inorganic powder such as talc, mica and titanium.
