ABSTRACT:
Blade assembly18for use in a microkeratome during eye surgery includes a cutting blade20and a blade holder22attached to the blade20. Tabs30are attached to the blade holder22to assist in aligning the blade assembly18with a mating slot12in a microkeratome to minimize damage to the cutting blade20. Tab30is attached to the blade holder22, such that the tab30may be detached from the blade holder22after insertion into the microkeratome.
