The present invention is directed to complexes represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R, R', R.sub.1, R'.sub.1, R.sub.2, R'.sub.2, R.sub.3, R'.sub.3, R.sub.4, R'.sub.4, R.sub.5, R'.sub.5, R.sub.6, R'.sub.6, R.sub.7, R'.sub.7, R.sub.8, R'.sub.8, R.sub.9, R'.sub.9, M, X, Y, Z and n are defined herein for use as contrast agents in diagnostic imaging.
