ABSTRACT:
A system serves to establish the spatial positions of a cutter head of a tunnel driving machine with precision and monitors and/or controls this position automatically. The system uses a computer-controlled laser beam scanning technique to locate the three-dimensional positions of mirror devices in successive measuring stations spaced along the tunnel.
