ABSTRACT:
Methods for extraction, isolation, and purification of therapeutically useful compounds fromTripterygium wilfordiiare described. Extraction steps employing aqueous base and a hydrocarbon solvent, respectively, are found to increase the efficiency of the process and reduce the amount of material that must be removed by chromatography.
