ABSTRACT:
A method of dissolving aluminum hydroxide gel formed in situ in water heaters having aluminum anode rods therein, comprising contacting the aluminum hydroxide gel with phosphoric acid, said phosphoric acid being present in the range of from about 9% to about 35% by volume at a temperature in the range of from about 138.degree. F. to about 160.degree. F.
