ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a preparation of aluminum and its alloys for purification by utilizing a flux composition of MgCl.sub.2 and KCl to substantially remove alkali and alkaline earth metals, such as, Ca and Na, from the formulation of an aluminum preparation.
