ABSTRACT:
A method of treating the silica dust recovered from waste gasses by wet-washing of the gasses is disclosed. The sludge material is charged to a rotary kiln at a temperature of 800.degree. - 1,400.degree. C. in the presence of an oxidizing or reducing agent whereby the sludge is converted to pellets while phenols and cyanides are simultaneously treated.
