This invention relates to the treatment of the common cold either by ameliorating the symptoms of the common cold or by preventing the rhinoviruses from causing colds or by preventing the cold symptoms from worsening. The invention includes the treatment of the common cold or head cold in mammals, especially man, and describes methods of treatment and pharmaceutical compositions for use in carrying out such treatments.
