ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a method of finishing textiles by contacting the textile with an aqueous emulsion of a curable composition consisting essentially of
(a) an acrylic copolymer consisting of (1) a major proportion of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic esters and methacrylic esters and (2) a minor proportion of another monomer copolymerizable therewith, and
(b) at least one curing agent selected from the group consisting of lysine, ornithine, arginine, glutamine, asparagine, citrulline, cystine, hydroxylysine, and salts of these amino acids, and curing the curable composition on the textile at elevated temperatures.
