A pharmaceutical composition comprises one or more essential fatty acids, for example, .gamma.-linolenic acid or dihomo-.gamma.-linolenic acid, in conjunction with rutin, troxerutin or other bioflavonoid. The composition is useful in the treatment of inflammation or defective T-lymphocyte function.
