ABSTRACT:
Cardiac arrhythmias and impaired cardiac function associated with congestive heart failure and shock are decreased or eliminated through administration, either orally or parenterally, of .beta.-hydroxy-.gamma.-trimethylaminobutyric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable non-toxic salt thereof.
