ABSTRACT:
In a method of treating one-side electrogalvanized steel sheets, the uncoated side is contacted with an aqueous pickling solution containing a water-soluble hydroxycarboxylic acid and a water-soluble peroxo compound. In this way, extremely resistant mixed oxides are separated from one-side electrogalvanized sheets, which, otherwise, would lead to stripy yellowish and brownish stains on the uncoated steel surface. In addition, the new metal surface formed is passivated.
