ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides methods for generating and identifying mutations inCaenorhabditis elegans. Disclosed herein are methods for introducing DNA into theC. elegansgermline, methods for expressing DNA in theC. elegansgermline, and methods for generatingC. elegansmutants by using controlled mobilization of endogenous and heterologous transposons. Also disclosed are a transgene construct for expression inC. elegansand methods for inserting single copy DNA sequences into theC. elegansgermline, and engineering mutations into theC. elegansgenome.
