ABSTRACT:
A method of replacing an existing telephone pole having a terminal box mounted thereto is disclosed. The terminal box is dismounted from the existing telephone pole. The terminal box is then permanently suspended from at least one overhead cable. A new telephone pole is installed, typically at some distance from the existing telephone pole. The existing telephone pole is then removed. A rigid suspension bracket is usable in the method for suspending the terminal box from the overhead cable. The terminal box is suspended in approximately the same location as the terminal box was mounted to the existing telephone pole. This reduces the stress on a splice and eliminates the need to recondition the splice and replace the terminal box.
