ABSTRACT:
A method for the refining of the silicatic slag phase produced in the thermal recovery of phosphorus from phosphates, which method comprises treating the slag, in the form of finely granular solid material, with steam at a temperature between 600.degree. C. and the softening temperature of the slag.
