ABSTRACT:
This invention is directed to a method for reducing the strength of adhesion of solid particulate materials to metal surfaces as occurs under water freezing conditions by coating the metal surface with a mixture comprising a hydrocarbon liquid which has a solidification or pour point not greater than 0.degree. F. and a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid having from about 10 to about 18 carbon atoms.
