ABSTRACT:
It is an object of the present invention to provide an information recording method for recording information in a data rewritable type optical recording medium having a plurality of information recording layers whereby a sufficiently high erasing efficiency can be ensured when data recorded in any one of the information recording layers are directly overwritten. In the information recording method according to the present invention, information is recorded in an optical recording medium10having at least a stacked L0layer20and L1layer30by projecting a laser beam thereonto via a light incidence plane13a. In the case where information is to be recorded in the optical recording medium10, information is recorded in the L0layer20using an off-pulse recording format and information is recorded in the L1layer30using an on-pulse recording format. As a result, even in the case of directly overwriting data recorded in either of the L0layer20or the L1 layer30, a sufficiently high erasing efficiency can be ensured.
