ABSTRACT:
By contacting a gas which contains vapors of volatile organic materials with an absorption liquid comprising a refined mineral oil and one or more compounds selected out of the group consisting of phthalic esters, silicic esters, phosphoric esters, carboxylic esters, alkyl benzenes, alkyl naphthalenes, and .alpha.-olefin oligomers, the volatile organic materials can be readily absorbed into the absorption liquid and thereafter effectively separated and recovered from the absorption liquid.
