Coenzyme Q.sub.10 which is useful as a raw material of medicines for curing various diseases such as heart diseases, hypertension, etc. can economically be mass produced in a culture medium containing an extremely large quantity of p-hydroxybenzoic acid by using Rhodotorula sp. No. 46a strain.
