ABSTRACT:
A method of printing a test pattern to form dots on a printing medium. A print head moves relative to the recording medium and the test pattern is used to inspect the printing element. The method has a line printing step for printing a dot line having predetermined length while moving the print head relative to the recording medium in a first direction of the recording medium; and a step of moving the print head relative to the recording medium in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction such that the printing element prints a dot line close to a dot line previously printed in the second direction, wherein the line printing step and the moving step are repeated alternately, and each printing element individually prints a plane image which is a assemblage of a plurality of the dot lines as a component part of the test pattern.
