ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing a gamma amino propyl alkoxy silane of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl moiety of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R' is methyl or phenyl, and y is 0, 1 or 2 which comprises contacting the corresponding gamma-chloropropyl alkoxy silane with ammonia under pressure at a temperature between 50.degree. and 90.degree. C. while stirring the reaction mixture.
