ABSTRACT:
A method of forming a hydrophilic urethane prepolymer comprising the steps of reacting an isocyanate compound to a hydrophilic polyether or polyester compound which has been heated to such a temperature that the temperature of the reactants after addition of isocyanate is at least as high as about 120.degree. C. The resulting urethane prepolymer may be reacted with water to form a cellular urethane polymer.
