ABSTRACT:
A process is provided for extracting and isolating a material from a spleen which is capable of inhibiting platelet function. It has been found that such material is capable of lowering platelet count or fibrinogen concentration or both. The process includes the steps of subjecting the spleen to a polar solvent and subjecting the filtrate to a chromatography process to obtain certain R.sub.f values.
