ABSTRACT:
A method of manufacturing a honeycomb structure of the present invention is a method of obtaining a honeycomb structure10having a predetermined shape by processing a peripheral portion of a crude honeycomb structure2, the method being characterized in that the peripheral portion of the crude honeycomb structure2is processed by a cutter having linear cut-off device. It is possible to effectively manufacture a honeycomb structure suitably used in a carrier for a catalyst having a catalytic action, for use in internal combustion engine, boiler, chemical reactor, reformer for fuel cell, etc., or as a filter for trapping particulate matter present in an exhaust gas by the method at low cost.
