ABSTRACT:
What is described here is a method of manufacturing a spectacle lens in which the critical thickness is to be minimized in particular, comprising the following steps of operation:initially, a spectacle lens finished on one side (blank) is manufactured with a predetermined outsides contour and a round outside contour in particular,one part is cut out from the blank, whose outside contour corresponds approximately to the contour of the spectacle lens,the cut-out part is joined with the edge part with an axial offset in such a way that the edge part serves as handle for the subsequent machining operations.
