ABSTRACT:
A smooth-surfaced tape or sheet of composite syntactic material made up of a polyolefin and, as filler, hollow microspheres, is formed by extrusion through a die having a land length to thickness ratio less than 7:1 at a temperature of about 215.degree. C. Such tapes are wrapped around pipes to provide insulation.
