ABSTRACT:
There is provided a process for making diglyme soluble siloxane-imide copolymers consisting essentially of (a) heating a mixture of diglyme, azeotropic solvent, organic diamine and bis-aminoalkyl-terminated polydiorganosiloxane to reflux and (b) adding to the refluxing mixture of (a) an organic dianhydride of the formula ##STR1## where Ar is an aromatic or aromatic containing group and Y is oxygen or sulfur. Block copolymers are obtained if the bis-aminoalkyl-terminated polydiorganosiloxane is not added to the reaction mass until after the reaction of the organic diamine and organic dianhydride has been completed.
