ABSTRACT:
The luminous efficiency of Y.sub.3 Al.sub.5 O.sub.12 :Ce phosphor can be increased by milling the phosphor to reduce its particle size, blending barium fluoride into the milled phosphor, and then reduction annealing the blend of phosphor and barium fluoride.
