ABSTRACT:
A process and a product made by the process for producing black glass from incinerated municipal waste including separating metal, stone and ash from the waste; melting the glass material comprising ferrous oxide and ferric oxide to convert at least a portion of the iron oxides to Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4, thereby causing the black coloration; and thereafter solidifying the molten glass.
