ABSTRACT:
Disclosed herein is a method of lowering lipid levels in a mammal involving the administration of the following N-naphthoylglycine derivatives, or a therapeutically acceptable salt with an organic or inorganic base of the first three listed derivatives: N-[[5-(trifluoromethyl)-6-methoxy-1-naphthalenyl]-thioxomethyl]-N-methylgl ycine, N-[(5-bromo-1-naphthalenyl)thioxomethyl]-N-methylglycine, N-[[6-methoxy-5-(trifluoromethylthio)-1-naphthalenyl]thioxomethyl]-N-methy lglycine, and 5-hydroxy-2-[5-(trifluoromethyl)-6-methoxy-1-naphthalenyl]-3-methylthiazol ium hydroxide, inner salt.
