ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is an improved method of inducing lightwood formation in a living conifer. The improved method comprises heating the sapwood of a selected section of a conifer to a temperature of from about 40.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C. by means of an energy source such as radiant energy.
