ABSTRACT:
A durable light resistance and UV-screening action is imparted to a fibrous article by coating the fibrous article with a polymer comprising units derived from at least one monomer selected from those which are represented by the formulae (1) and (2): ##STR1## wherein R is H or CH.sub.3 and X is --O--, --OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O-- or --OCH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3)O--, ##STR2## wherein Y is halogen or CH.sub.3, n is 1 or 2, R.sub.1 is C1-6 hydrocarbyl, m is 1 or 2, R.sub.2 is C1-6 alkylene and R.sub.3 is H or CH.sub.3.
