ABSTRACT:
Method is provided for forming an improved wear resistant coating on a metallic surface. Novel compositions for forming said coating are provided consisting essentially of 60 to 90% by volume Cr.sub.3 C.sub.2 and 40 to 10% by volume of a matrix alloy of CoCrNiW, FeCrAlY, or mixtures thereof.
