A method of forming ceramic elements for a drive system or similar apparatus includes providing highly efficient, light weight, durable, and wear and abrasion resistant sliding components. In particular, the method uses high precision tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (TZP) ceramic or alternatively zirconia-alumina ceramic composite for forming the components of drive system.
