A method and jig for determining the behavior of a shock absorber arranged in a wheel suspension unit of a vehicle in which the vertical contact force applied by the wheel is measured while the wheel is being subjected to shocks applied to the wheel in a cycle according to a predetermined relationship of amplitude to frequency.
