ABSTRACT:
Desulfurization of combustion gases is maximized by calcining a calcinable compound within the combustion chamber under optimal conditions for calcination, processing the calcined product with flyash produced by combustion to form a highly reactive absorbent, and treating the combustion gases with the absorbent to remove sulfur-containing gaseous products of combustion therefrom.
