A method of decreasing plasma cholesterol and/or triglycerides, comprising administering an effective amount of [Cr.sub.3 O(O.sub.2 CCH.sub.2 CH.sub.3).sub.6 (H.sub.2 O).sub.3 ].sup.+ to a patient in need thereof.
