ABSTRACT:
For carrying out a process for decomposing, into hydrogen and nitrogen, ammonia recovered from a coke oven gas by combining a catalytic combustion of ammonia and a catalytic decomposition of ammonia utilizing a waste heat by said combustion, a basic compound as a required catalyzer is added to ruthenium supported on alumina, or ruthenium as a required catalyzer is supported on a basic compound, whereby ammonia may be decomposed effectively at ranges of low temperatures as not more than 500.degree.
