ABSTRACT:
A method of cleaning a power cable having a semi-conductive layer includes wiping the semi-conductive layer with a cleaning solution comprising a brominated hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of n-propyl bromide and isopropyl bromide to remove at least a portion of the semi-conductive layer.
