ABSTRACT:
Recirculating water used in closed cycle air-conditioning systems is treated with a 3-chloro-2-oxazolidinone derivative, e.g., 3-chloro-4,4-di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkyl-2-oxazolidinones such as 3-chloro-4,4-di-methyl-2-oxazolidinone, to prevent the growth of Legionella pneumophila therein.
