ABSTRACT:
A method for spatial filtering of noise in a digital image includes selection of a fixed or random number (N), of oriented random elementary through said instantaneous pixel, and having characteristics, at least one .theta..sub.2, . . . .theta..sub.N ! between the axis of orientation and a reference axis (OX), and a support size which is defined as a number of pixels, combination of the intensities of the pixels on the supports of the elementary filters individually in order to produce elementary intensities, and combination of the elementary intensities in order to the instantaneous pixel.
An image processing device carries out this method.
