ABSTRACT:
A method for the production of reformed p-vinylphenol polymers which are lightened in color comprising treating a p-vinylphenol polymer under heating at about 150.degree. C. to about 350.degree. C. in the presence of an amine, and if optionally, in the additional presence of an acid compound and/or a reducing agent, and if necessary, in the additional presence of an inert solvent.
