ABSTRACT:
A method for the production of foam ceramics or shaped articles of foam ceramics from an aqueous starting mixture containing components which on heating to a temperature between 700.degree. and 1100.degree.C form a viscous, sintered and porous mass, which comprises incorporating a hydraulic binder or latent hydraulic binder into the aqueous starting mixture to effect solidification of the latter.
