ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to an improved process for preparing an herbicidal intermediate compound having the structural formula: ##STR1## wherein groups X are independently selected from alkyl, haloalkyl, CN, halo, alkoxy, nitro, or S(O).sub.m R.sup.2 where R.sup.2 is alkyl and m is 0, 1 or 2, n is 0 or an integer of from 1 to 4 and R.sup.5 is hydrogen or C.sub.1-6 alkyl and intermediate compounds.
