ABSTRACT:
This invention pertains to a process for the manufacture of metal soap granulates or mixtures thereof by means of reacting an aqueous solution or suspension of a metal oxide, metal hydroxide or metal carbonate, including basic metal carbonates, or mixtures thereof with a water insoluble fatty acid which may be aliphatic, saturated or unsaturated, straight chained or branched and which may either be natural or synthetic fatty acids, having a chain length of C.sub.8 -C.sub.32 and a melting point of above 0.degree. C. and below 100.degree. C.; such fatty acids may be used alone or in mixtures with the reaction taking place in the absence of catalysts and wetting agents.
