ABSTRACT:
A method is provided for the manufacture of coated calcium sulfate whisker fibers wherein the calcium sulfate whisker fibers are formed in an aqueous solution at about 110.degree.-150.degree.C, dryed, and preferably fired. Thereafter the resulting fibers are treated to form a protective coating on the fibers.
