ABSTRACT:
Method for forming a dye image comprising imagewise exposing and processing a silver halide light-sensitive color photographic material having a support and coated thereon a silver halide emulsion layer containing silver halide crystals, wherein said silver halide crystals consist essentially of crystals having at least 80 mole % of silver chloride, said developing taking place in a developer essentially free from bromide ion and having a pH value of at least 9.5, in the presence of a p-phenylenediamine color-developing agent and a compound of the formula ##STR1## having an acid dissociation constant of not more than 1.times.10.sup.-8 and a solubility product with silver ion of not more than 1.times.10.sup.-10, wherein Z, together with N forms a heterocyclic ring, said compound.
