ABSTRACT:
A method and system for suppressing necking and hunting of a hot rolled strip in a hot rolling line includes holding of the strip temperature at the outlet of a finishing mill at a temperature immediately above a transformation temperature. Air cooling of the strip is performed from the transformation start point to the transformation end point. The transformation end point, rapid cooling by water cooling is performed thereafter.
